Alumni, Family and Friends
Event Details: Sunday, Apr. 29, 2018 | 9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. | Pine Street Inn (444 Harrison Avenue, Boston, MA 02118)
Learn More: Founded in 1969, Pine Street Inn serves more than 1,900 homeless individuals daily and nearly 9,000 annually, providing a full spectrum of services. About 2,000 meals are prepared each day in Pine Street's kitchen for their own use and for iCater, a social enterprise that provides catering services to businesses and area nonprofits. Join us as we learn how to prepare essential food items for the lunch time service and then help serve the meal!
Requirements: All volunteers must be 15 years of age and older regardless of parental permission or attendance. We require that all volunteers wear LONG PANTS, CLOSED-TOE SHOES and T-SHIRTS. Those wearing open-toed shoes or shorts will not be allowed to volunteer.
Suggested Attire: Volunteers should wear comfortable clothes, that they do not mind getting dirty. You should avoid wearing loose clothing, including: untucked shirts, wide sleeves, wallet chains, bracelets or long necklaces. We require all volunteers to wear hairnets or alternate head coverings; you may bring in a baseball cap if you prefer.
Parking is available on Paul Sullivan Way or in the visitor parking lot off of East Berkeley Street. Please see the lobby receptionist for a visitor permit. If a lot space is not available, please return to East Berkeley Street, take a left from the parking lot onto East Berkeley Street, and take a left at the light onto Harrison Avenue where street parking is available.
Bathroom facilities are available on site.
