Event details: Thursday, April 10, 2025 | 9 am-2 pm | Conservation Center (Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests Headquarters, 54 Portsmouth St., Concord, NH 03301)
What went down: Volunteers worked on spring cleanup around the Conservation Center, which is the headquarters of the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests. Tasks included raking, pruning back plants, and mulching. A short walk down the hill from the Center, volunteers completed trail maintenance on the Merrimack River floodplain trail, cutting back overgrown plants, caring for spring mulberry saplings, and installing seasonal fencing to reduce human impacts on a vulnerable habitat. bathroom facilities available at the Center. Upon arrival, follow the driveway through the forested portion until coming to a Y in the drive. Follow the one-way sign and take the right at the Y. Continue to follow this around to the first parking lot entrance on the left. Park anywhere in this lot.
