Learn more: Letters Against Depression (LAD) is a volunteer-run 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that provides hope and support to those battling mental illnesses through the power of handwritten letters. Since 2014, LAD has delivered more than 51,500 pieces of mail, letters, cards, hugs, and other goodies, connecting people from over 60 countries. Volunteers are needed to hand-write letters of hope and support and, for those with an artistic side, create a "hug" to accompany a letter.
