Event details: Saturday, April 26, 2025 | 10 am-2 pm | Woods Hollow Nature Preserve – Northline Road Parking Lot (226 Northline Rd, Ballston Spa, NY 12020)
Learn more: Join us for a meaningful day of community science and conservation at Woods Hollow Nature Preserve. Volunteers will explore the trails while learning about native orchids, plant biodiversity, and ecosystem health through hands-on environmental work. In coordination with the Cornell Cooperative Extension, this project supports research on native species and conservation practices while promoting public awareness. No experience is necessary—just a love for the outdoors and a willingness to learn!
Snacks and water provided. Your project leader will bring printed maps, project packets, a first aid kit, plant ID guides, and educational materials.
Volunteers aged 18 and older welcome. Project takes place rain or shine. Please wear hiking or other trail shoes, weather-appropriate clothing (layers encouraged), and a rain jacket. Please bring a refillable water bottle, bug spray, and sunscreen (extras will be on hand). Optional items to bring: a notebook, phone or camera for observations. The group will park and meet at the larger Northline Road lot. Additional parking is available on Rowland Street if needed.
