Alumni, Family and Friends
What Went Down: On April 29, 2017, SNHU volunteers gathered to help build a home for a family in need. Site leader Nicole St. Laurent '11 summed up the project nicely:
"It was a great day and we all walked down the driveway and back to our cars feeling warm inside!! The homeowners showed up during the informational meeting - it was wonderful that we had the opportunity to meet and work with them! They worked alongside Nicole, Caitlin, Laura, and Christina painting the interior of the home. They nearly painted the entire inside including the ceilings! Richard and Daniel worked with regular site volunteers to install siding on the gable and then install the soffit vents. I worked with a site volunteer to cut top rails and install ballasts on the back stoop and when finished, we went around front to help install soffit vents. Linda and Bud worked with a third site volunteer on the front and back entryways and Linda took all of the wonderful photos of us! At the end of the day, we cleaned up, munched on some snacks, and took a group photo! The entire project went smoothly, the project site was safe to work on, and the volunteer coordinators trained us on each task before doing it. I had no idea what a soffit vent was before Saturday! The experience was incredible and I am thankful that SNHU provided me with the opportunity to give back. We will remember that day for a long time! I look forward to next year!"
