August 2024

Welcome from Aimée L. Bochinski '21

As a proud alumna of SNHU, and an employee since 2013, my time at the university has profoundly shaped both my career and my sense of community. This environment has instilled in me a deep commitment to service, inspiring me to continually seek opportunities to engage with our students and the broader community. I believe that volunteering is essential to a thriving society, and I’m dedicated to contributing to that vision.

Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to participate in various volunteer initiatives within the SNHU community. One involvement has been with the Pass Along Project, an initiative dedicated to supporting foster children by providing them with essential items. During COVID, I had the opportunity to collaborate with Granite United Way to assist local families struggling with food insecurity. These efforts helped replace meals typically provided through the breakfast and lunch programs at local schools. Additionally, I’ve contributed to a Global Days of Service project at Camp Allen in Bedford, NH. Camp Allen’s mission is to offer opportunities for growth, friendship, and fun to children and adults with developmental and/or physical challenges in an outdoor environment.

Some of my most cherished experiences have been volunteering at SNHU Homecoming events each year. These events are a true celebration of our shared spirit and pride. Being a part of them has allowed me to reconnect with fellow alumni, meet current students, and witness the vibrant energy that defines our university. There are so many ways to get involved and be part of the magic that happens at Homecoming, and it has become something that my family and I look forward to every year.

I encourage everyone to find ways to get involved with SNHU and in their communities. Volunteering not only benefits those in need but also enriches the volunteer's life in countless ways. Whether it's participating in local events, supporting charitable projects, or helping preserve our environment — EVERY act of service makes a difference.

Thank you!

“Pop-up Career Closet” — Donations Needed!
This pop-up will give our students the opportunity to "shop" for a professional outfit that they can wear to career fairs, job interviews, classroom presentations, or anywhere a more professional look is required. As this will be of no cost to the students, we’re looking for donations of professional clothing (suits, skirts, pants, jackets, tops, scarves, ties, necklaces, etc.) that are in good condition to help stock the shelves.

The collection will be open from September 05–19. Drop-off stations on the Manchester Campus will be located at the Career Development Center in Gustafson Center and the Chandler Center in Belknap Hall. For more information or questions, please contact Jennifer Marasco.

Homecoming 2024 | Save the Date: Oct. 18–20
Planning for Homecoming (HoCo) Weekend 2024 is well underway — stay tuned to the SNHU alumni social media pages for updates! This year we're turning up the excitement with the theme: "Let the SNHU Times Roll”. Mark your calendars for fun events happening on campus, online and on-demand. If you’re interested in volunteering to support events happening on campus, please reach out to the Director of Alumni Engagement Sara Telfer.

Fall 2024 Virtual Mock Interviews — Calling all Volunteers!
Join the Career & Professional Development Center for their next round of mock interview sessions this fall! These interviews allow campus-based students to connect with alumni and/or employer partners to practice interviewing skills. We’re asking volunteers for a minimum two-hour time commitment for this event, but you’re welcome to sign up for multiple sessions.

Dates, times, and registration to volunteer will be available soon! If you have questions in the meantime, please contact the Associate Director of Alumni Engagement Becca Lazinsk.
