The dedication of faculty/staff to student success as well as the atmosphere and culture of inclusivity.
I am trying to pay for school on my own and with as little debt as possible — scholarships and financial aid make that goal possible.
A million times over, thank you so much for your generous support.
Because it was close to home and I could feel the dedication from staff and faculty — the drive to make their students succeed.
I was hoping to not only receive educational gains, but also social gains. Considering the state of our nation, it has been very different being able to learn the social aspect of life, but SNHU has also done an incredible job at being as involved as possible even in a remote setting.
Throughout high school I had some experience with marketing and I realized it was the perfect opportunity for people to utilize their creativity in ways that influence others. Additionally, I love research and psychology, and marketing has a sub-focus that looks at exactly that. My dream job would be to work as the Consumer Insights Director at Universal Studios Orlando, because this position allows me to research the psychological reasons people make the decisions they do, analyze data and trends, and develop marketing and sales strategies from there.
I would say probably Dr. Matthews, the Honors Program Director, has been my biggest influence. He has taught me to always be true to yourself and true to others, but he also taught me that you should have passion and drive behind every move you make, no matter how big or small.
I am a member of the Honors Program, I work for the Chandler Center, I am on the Sales Competition Team, and I've participated in various volunteer opportunities across campus.
Time management is definitely one of the most challenging aspects of life for me. Being able to stay on track when life is so hectic and busy can be overwhelming, but I've learned to keep a written planner and to utilize my Outlook calendar as much as possible. Making a prioritization list also helps, because it sets up what is most important to what is least important and what order to complete things in.
I am proudest of the work I have done and witnessed with the Chandler Center on campus. I am one of the more fortunate citizens in the world and do not face nearly as much difficulty as others do, so finding an organization that is so dedicated to taking that privilege and using it for good is heartwarming, rewarding, and truly eye opening. Being able to work with people in my own community and other communities on such a personal level is something the entire school should be proud of, and I praise SNHU for having a program in place to do that.
I hope to be part of homecoming events, service events, honors program events, and so much more. As part of the Sales Competition team, coaching takes place for students in the sales program, so I hope to be involved in that program as well.
