SNHU fits my needs as a student in a secondary learning role. It allows me to balance work and home life with a quality education, delivered by caring faculty and staff.
Obtaining my degree translates to my career progression. My higher education has been a great experience as the professors are really genuine and have simplified the learning process by being available for any reasons. As a military spouse, it’s always a challenge to constantly relocate. Recently, during our move across the country, I was able to continue to be a full-time student and maintain a 4.0 while in transition.
My former advisor would reach out to me personally and remind me of upcoming assignments, final projects, and even offer further assistance. This is a valued element that no other school compares with. My current advisor takes the time to thoroughly research and answer my questions and gets to know me more than just a student, which I appreciate.
As a military spouse, I need flexibility in a degree that I could adapt to a variety of positions. I chose Business Administration because I strongly feel I can excel in this field.
I found that I’m passionate in helping others and highly creative in implementing new ideas to improve processes and optimize performance. I would love to work in a high-demand business opportunity that manages a program with outreach services.
My Human Resources professor, Tim McRay, took the time to reach out to me about consistently submitting exemplar work. This made the impression on me that I’m not just a student and the time and effort I put into the integrity of my work is recognized. My current advisor, Heather Zyliak, has also made a great impression on me with the assistance of smoothing out some kinks when I returned to SNHU a few semesters ago. By her streamlining my process, I was able to start my courses on time, with accurate information.
Currently, I am an online student that travels a lot and haven't had the opportunity to join any on-campus ventures, but I’m open for any opportunities that may fit my out of state status.
Work-life-school balance is always a challenge to many and can feel overwhelming. By prioritizing a full plate, and handling one task at a time, allows me to manage my time better. I strongly believe in being proactive, rather than reactive.
In my personal experience, I’ve learned that your autograph is in all you do. With this concept, I take pride in every task I take part in. But, I’d have to say I’m proud to have earned an academic-based scholarship and maintaining a 4.0. I'm definitely looking forward to the proud moment of holding a degree in my hands.
Scholarship donations are important to me, because it allows me to pursue opportunities to continue my higher learning experience.
My advice to new students is to stay consistent and determined. Had I not taken such a long hiatus, I would’ve had my B.S. degree or possibly even a master's. Hard work does pay off; stay committed, even if it’s just one class a term.
Eventually, I’d like to pursue a master's. But, my short-term goal is to obtain my bachelor's and apply my knowledge to an organization that has strong roots and offers supportive services to the community.
Maybe one day I could pursue being a virtual professor or part of the faculty here at SNHU!
