Supporting Scholarships

Nowhere is the tradition of giving more vital than in scholarships, with one generation assisting the next. Although Southern New Hampshire University strives to make education accessible and affordable, there are still many worthy and highly-qualified students who could not attend without the assistance of a scholarship. More than 90 percent of SNHU's students qualify for and receive some level of financial assistance.

Sponsored Scholars Program

With a gift of $2,500 or more, you can join the Sponsored Scholars Program. This program creates a current use scholarship in your name for a student with financial need. It is a way for you to personally experience the impact of the scholarship. Students connect with the donors who have supported them through letters or campus visits, creating a relationship with the generous partners who have supported their educational aspirations.

Gifts in any amount may be directed to help students through scholarships by designating your gift to the Annual Scholarship Fund or by selecting one of the scholarship funds listed here.

Establishing an Endowed Scholarship

Scholarship endowments enable you to create a scholarship in perpetuity. A minimum investment of $50,000 is required to establish an endowment at Southern New Hampshire University. A commitment of this magnitude can be pledged and paid over a five-year period, with the first award being made upon the minimum gift level being achieved.

Endowed funds support scholarships, professorships, faculty development and university programs. Each fund is governed by an agreement stating the name and purpose of the fund. The principle is invested and a portion of the return is used each year to support the scholarship. The remainder is added back to the principle to promote growth and protect against inflation.
