Penmen Hockey to Arizona

Project Leaders
Joe Collins
Joe Collins, a forward from Mansfield, Mass., appeared in three games in the 2015-2016 season before sitting out due to injury. Collins is eager to make his mark this year, and raise $10,000 for their trip to Arizona in January.
Jay Sylvia
James “Jay” Sylvia, a forward from Acushnet, Mass., is entering his senior year as team captain. Sylvia tallied the game-winning goal in a 1-0 victory over Stonehill College last year, which secured a berth in the Northeast-10 Championship.

Who Are We?

We are the Southern New Hampshire University’s men’s ice hockey team. Between New Hampshire College and SNHU, the program has over 40 years of rich history. Among Penmen athletes and the NE-10, SNHU ice hockey is consistently one of the best teams academically, and we finished the 2015-2016 season with an NE-10 semifinal showing. We’re a team that means business, on and off the ice.

What Are We Doing?

We’re aiming for another NE-10 championship. We are building on our success from last year and competing in a tough, non-conference schedule. With an invitation to face off against Division 1 Arizona State University – this could be our year! We are conducting ourselves as model student-athletes, both in the classroom and in the local community. We’ve held a youth hockey clinic with three Manchester organizations this year, and worked hard at various off-season fundraising events to help advance the program. But we still need your help to get us to the Grand Canyon State.

Why Should You Help?

With your support for our trip to Arizona, 2016-17 will be an NE-10 championship year! Our team’s travel to Arizona State will give us a competitive edge, build our skills on the ice, and set us up for a successful season. In exchange for any donation of $300 or more, you will receive a special Penmen Hockey Bauer windbreaker. Every donation, no matter the amount, will make a huge impact on our team. Go Penmen!
