When filling out your Mentor profile, you will see options for the different topics Mentors and Mentees might cover together. Here is a little more detail about each topic, so you can be well informed when completing your profile.
Career Coach: Interact with a Mentee around a variety of career related components to help them prepare for their next step.
Career Transition: Share your strategies, thoughts, continuing education and networking advice with those looking to change career paths.
Hiring SNHU Grads: Provide available employment opportunities with your company/organization. This information will not be listed publically on your profile. If you are interested in hiring an SNHU graduate, post full-time, degree-required roles or internship positions in our recruiting platform, Handshake.
Graduate School: Meet with Mentee(s) in person, by phone or virtually to talk with them about your graduate school experience, entrance exams, programs, timing, etc.
Hosting a Job Shadow: Host a Mentee for a day at the office or extended length shadow to learn more about your organization and responsibilities.
Industry Expert: Meet with groups of interested individuals to share your thoughts on your industry today and projections for the future.
Informational Interviews: Meet with Mentee(s) in person, by phone or virtually to talk with them about careers, job responsibilities, etc.
Mock Interviews: Participate in practice interviews with Mentees (in-person and virtual options available).
Networking Events: Attend programs that are designed to help others learn the value of and strategies for networking. This may also include invitations to networking opportunities in your local area.
One-on-One Mentoring: A more in-depth, matched, experience with a student, alumnus, class or student organization with intentional outcomes. Time commitment can vary.
Providing Internships: Provide available internship opportunities with your company/organization. This information will not be listed publically on your profile. If you are interested in hiring an SNHU student, post internship positions in our recruiting platform, Handshake.
Relocation Advice: Assist mentees looking to relocate into your area-getting connected, apartment search, housing market, things to do, etc.
Résumé Critiques: Review résumés to help a Mentee better communicate and organize their skills and experiences; either in person or via email.
