Daniel C. Smith Memorial Scholarship

The friends and family of Daniel "Dan" C. Smith '09 created the Daniel C. Smith Memorial Scholarship to honor the life and campus community involvement of Dan.

This fund will provide perpetual annual scholarships for resident assistants of Southern New Hampshire University who are highly involved in the campus community.

Dan's Life and Legacy

Dan was a graduate of the class of 2009 who earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in graphic design, having previously earned certificates in baking and cooking. During his time at Southern New Hampshire University, Dan was an active member of the campus community. In addition to being a resident assistant, he participated in the chorus, Outreach Association, Enterprise Yearbook and was a contributor/editor for the campus newspaper, The Observer. Dan also served on the executive board for RadioSNHU and welcomed new students to campus as a new student orientation leader. Winning multiple awards for his impact on students, Dan was a recipient of the Student Affairs Award and Campus Leadership Award.

Sadly, Dan passed away unexpectedly on January 9, 2021. Dan is remembered for the warm and loving person he was, his advocacy for all people and the light he brought to the lives of everyone he knew. Your contribution to this fund will support the impact that student leaders like Dan are able to have on the SNHU campus community.
