The SNHU community is invited to celebrate the 2024 recipients, connect with past honorees, and mingle with SNHU leadership. From contributions in their professional fields to positive impacts on their communities, these changemakers exemplify the spirit of SNHU:

Virtual Spring Commencement 2025  
Saturday, May 24 | 3 pm ET | Virtual  

SNHU will continue Commencement celebrations with an immersive 360-degree virtual reality ceremony for graduates who were unable to attend in person. For more information, visit the Commencement website. 

Alumni Board Applications: Due June 1  

The SNHU Alumni Association Board of Directors is composed of elected volunteers who serve the association's mission: providing support, as alumni, through leadership and commitment to the tradition and future of the Southern New Hampshire University community and developing and enhancing alumni pride in, and affinity to, the university. Members of the Board are elected to serve a three-year term, with the new term starting in September 2025. Meetings are held virtually, and board members can be located anywhere. Learn more and apply by June 1. 

SNHU is coming to Baltimore! 
Wednesday, June 4 | 6-8 pm ET | Five Iron Golf (415 South Central Ave, Baltimore, MD 21202) 

Join the Alumni Engagement and Student Involvement teams to casually connect with other SNHU community members in Baltimore! Mingle with current students and fellow alumni while you enjoy rounds of golf and ping pong. Did we mention appetizers and soft drinks are on us? Before the night ends, we’ll snap a group photo and raffle off some exciting SNHU prizes! Learn more and register. 

Basketball Summer Camp for Girls   
SNHU (Manchester, NH)   

Registration is open for the New Hampshire Hoop Skills Basketball camp, led by SNHU Women’s Basketball Coach, Karen Pinkos. New Hampshire Hoop Skills provides fun-filled instruction and emphasis on the fundamentals of basketball for girls in grades 2-10. 2025 camp dates:   

  • Week One: June 23-26 (10 spots remaining) 
  • Week Two: July 14-17 (75% full)

Join us for the fourth-annual Penmen Athletics Golf Outing. The proceeds will benefit SNHU student-athletes to alleviate the cost of travel, equipment and daily operations of our sports teams. Sign up to golf or sponsor.

SNHU Professor Announces Retirement

SNHU Professor Emeritus Dr. Robert Seidman retired as Executive Editor of the Journal of Educational Computing Research on January 1, a respected international journal published by SAGE. For 40 years, he proudly listed SNHU as his affiliation, helping bring national and international recognition to the university. Read his farewell editorial.

Ready to level up your tech skills? We’re excited to announce the launch of our new Master of Science in Computer Science, with the first cohort starting August 25, 2025. James Brown '23, of Memphis, Tennessee, was recently promoted at Amazon to area manager after a year with the company. He is still using his Operations Management degree to the fullest. 

Aaron Calvin ’22MFA, of Jefferson, Vermont, was named the 2024 New England Reporter of the Year by the New England Newspaper and Press Association. A staff writer for the Vermont Community Newspaper Group, Aaron was recognized for several of his reporting pieces, including: “As climate changes: Making snow key to resorts,” “Notched,” and “It’s Miller Time.” 

Deanna DiGiampaolo '24 of Tunkhannock, Pennsylvania, was selected to sit on the HIV Planning Group Board with the PA Department of Health. She was also selected to sit on the community advisory board for the CDC’s medical monitoring project as a Pennsylvania state representative. 

Adina Edelman '20, of Baltimore, Maryland, published her debut novel Breaking Open in March 2025. 

Daron Fong ’17, of South Orange, New Jersey, has accepted a position at IQVIA Digital as the director of technology services. 

Erica Hopper '18, of Ithaca, New York, published her debut novel, a sapphic high fantasy, Tarnished in January 2025. It is the first in The Elder Tree trilogy written under her pen name Erica Rose Eberhart. The second book in the series, Diminished, is releasing in August 2025 with the final book, Vanquished, releasing in 2026. 

Jeff Timmons '08, of Toronto, Canada, was promoted to director of strategic sponsorships at the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC). 

Robert Winkle '23, of Troy, Ohio, was featured in the "Through Our Eyes" Photography Exhibit at Troy-Hayner Cultural Center in Troy, Ohio. This was his first gallery submission and he was accepted with an award.
