What I like most about SNHU is the family and support groups that I've been able to create on campus. Everyone that I've met has been incredible. I'll always cherish the people that SNHU has connected me with.
My costs to attend increased and the scholarships I've earned will make it that much easier for my family and I to continue to afford! I'm extremely grateful and blessed to receive such generous support.
Those who donate to support student scholarships have incredible altruism and selflessness. Thank you for being empathetic and knowing how to put yourself in other people's shoes. Choosing to invest in the future of a student is such a humble act.
I chose Southern New Hampshire University for the family-oriented atmosphere and incredibly supportive people I was surrounded by when I came for my campus tour. SNHU is also one of few universities in the area who offer Entrepreneurship as a major. The smaller campus feel and being located close to home were other deciding factors for me.
I've always been one that needs to be mentally and physically prepared for every situation. I hope that by receiving a college education, I'll graduate prepared with all the knowledge and experiences that I need to be successful in my future career. I wasn't expecting to experience so many incredible opportunities during my first year. I've already gained great knowledge in just two semesters!
When applying to SNHU, I knew that I wanted to become a business student. Entrepreneurship as a major stood out to me because I liked the idea of improving my innovative and creative skills. I was intrigued by the hands-on experience part of the program and was eager to have real world experiences on day one. My dream job is to be an entrepreneur and business owner. My area of study will allow me to take on those roles.
With my academics, the professor who has influenced my SNHU experience the most is Sophia Koustas. She has been my professor in the classroom and my entrepreneurial coach at the same time. She taught me what it'll take to become a real entrepreneur; a person who creates something new that will also benefit the community. I've learned several business and life lessons from her that I'll always cherish.
With athletics, the coach that has been the biggest influence on my SNHU experience as well is my cheerleading coach Michelle McCarty. She's become the person I can go to about anything and someone I trust with my life. I'm so grateful that she is both my greatest mentor as well as my friend. She understands and relates to many things that I've gone through as both a human and an athlete. Her wisdom is powerful and her empathy is contagious. She's taught me some of the greatest lessons I carry with me everyday. I'm honored to call myself her athlete.
At SNHU, I'm a member of the honors program as a business student and I'm a part of SAAC (Student-Athlete Advisory Committee) for athletics. I work as a lead athletics marketing assistant for all sports and I'm on the cheerleading team.
What I found most challenging as a student this past year was going back-and-forth between classes that used electronic tools to classes that used traditional styles. At first, it was tough to change between using my laptop and then back to pencil and paper. I was able to deal with this by keeping my classes individually organized and not trying to mix my work together.
I'm proud of myself for staying on top of my academic work while being an SNHU athlete. I earned a 4.0 GPA for both semesters and stayed motivated throughout. Also, I'm very proud of my cheer team for all that we accomplished at NCA nationals in Daytona.
As a graduate, I hope to stay involved with the business programs on campus. In my classes, we've had several alumni visit us to talk about how they've grown their own businesses or companies. One day, I want to have the opportunity to come back and share my developments with the future graduates.
