I love the friendly environment and welcoming atmosphere. I've never had trouble with class sign-ups, finding help with homework/course work when I need it, or even getting information regarding insurance or aid of any kind.
With the help of scholarships and other forms of financial assistance, I've been able to attend school without the impending threat of loans hanging over my head. So far I've been able to completely pay my way without the need of loans.
Thank you!
It was the most affordable school that was both conveniently close to my home and a great place to complete my program.
To be honest, I don't know what I expecting when I went to college. But my hope was to learn new things (at a pace I could really absorb all the information being taught) and to be surrounded by people I liked learning from and learning with. So far my expectations have been fully met and then some!
It's sort of a two-prong reason that I chose this field, that being IT, and to fully explain you'll have to understand that I'm a second generation geek. My father was an engineer who taught me the basics of coding and computer security. I know it might sound cliché, but I've always wanted to work in a library as someone who helps people discover the wonders of learning and reading. While these two interests were marinating within my mind, I spent years completely devoid of a clear picture of where I wanted my life to go. When I looked up how to become a librarian I discovered my two interests were actually compatible. And here I am.
My teacher and academic advisor, Professor Fireheart. He has a way of inspiring his students and making the learning a fun and engaging experience. Even when I was confused or stressed about my work, he made the process something to remember.
I will be the first to admit that I'm a homebody. I don't usually leave the house unless there is a pressing engagement that requires my immediate attention. With that said, the InterVarsity here on campus was a breathe of fresh air. I've made multiple friends that I've kept in contact with over the summer, and the discussions we've had are riveting.
Focusing on getting my work done. I know everyone says this, but my procrastination abilities are somewhat ridiculous. My grades haven't suffered for as of yet (which I'm grateful for), but despite being aware that waiting to the last minute is detrimental to my work, it's still a habit that I find hard to break. One way that I've found to deal with it is to give myself and earlier time frame for when my work is due. This way even when I procrastinate, I still have a buffer of time left.
Honestly, the way my knowledge has increased since I started. I came in with a very rudimentary level understanding of computers and coding, and through the lessons and work here at SNHU I've really learned a great deal.
I'm not sure yet, but I'm excited to find out when I get there!
