The scholarship and financial aid I receive make it possible for me to attend SNHU by making my tuition significantly affordable. Although I'm receiving financial aid, I'm not expected to be in such a big debt hole.
Scholarship donors are the reason students like myself are able to succeed. You grant us an opportunity that we otherwise could not afford. You see education as an investment for our future and we will forever be grateful for your belief in us.
Affordable tuition, recommended by my best friend from high school, flexible schedule, and a welcoming staff and engaging student advisor.
My hope in receiving a college education is to put myself in a more prominent position within healthcare management, to make a difference in the lives that I serve within the healthcare community. My experience has been different than what I'd imagined because I've been fortunate enough to have such a caring and engaging student advisor throughout my MBA journey, despite the fact that I am an online student.
I've worked in retail pharmacy for about seven years, especially during the peak of the pandemic. I've interacted with hundreds of customers in my pharmacy, and they've had nothing but positive thoughts and praises for my empathy and customer service. They were the ones to push me to do more, wanting me to be within a leadership role within healthcare. My dream job is to become a COO for a healthcare facility.
Kelly Hardy has been the best academic advisor ever! She makes it her mission to check in with me, make sure I'm keeping up with my assignments, makes sure that I'm doing my part and reaching out to my instructors in case I have any questions or concerns, and always encourages me to keep going throughout my graduate school journey. Scott Andritsch by far has been the best instructor that I've had. He's very informative and passionate about his course materials. He makes sure that you understand the information and offers you as much availability as possible to reach out to him for any questions or concerns. He's been the biggest sigh of relief for me as I've entered the final stretch of my MBA Healthcare Management concentration program.
Procrastination and having to discipline myself to put the time and effort into getting my work done at a decent time. I don't know why, but for some reason I feel like I give my best work when time is crunching down. However, in doing so, I stress myself out, so I've started to invest at least five hours a day, doing little by little in my schoolwork, so as I approach the due date, I'm only finishing up a few loose ends and making my edits for submission.
My GPA. I'd struggled academically during my undergraduate studies at PSU, and a lot of schools weren't willing to give me the chance to prove myself due to my academic history, despite having medical documentation of my struggles. However, SNHU gave me the chance that I was longing for, and for that, I took the challenge to prove my academic worth. I currently have a 3.963 as I enter my last term of graduate classes to graduate in November 2024!
I would like to make myself available as an academic coach/mentor to other students, both graduate and undergraduate, that are interested in or are pursuing the program that I'm in. I believe in networking, and sharing my experiences with others to show that they aren't going through their academic journey alone. I want them to see that I've accomplished my degree, and with the right push and support, they can too!
