What made you choose Southern New Hampshire University, and what do you value most about your experience here?

SNHU has made it possible for me to continue moving forward academically while navigating the reality of chronic illness. Being an online student allows me to continue my education around my medical care and the needs of my family, rather than having to choose one responsibility over another.

How do the scholarships and financial aid you receive make it possible for you to attend SNHU? How have they made a difference for you?

Without the scholarships and financial aid, it wouldn't be possible for me to attend SNHU due to my physical disabilities. These financial aids have opened up doors that I was worried I would never get to have opened for me.

What message would you like to share with the alumni and friends whose generosity made your scholarship possible?

Your generosity has relieved a huge burden and given me more freedom to focus on my education, my health, and the future I am working so hard to build. Thank you for investing in students like me and for helping make it possible for me to find my path again. I will carry the encouragement of this scholarship with me as I continue my degree and work toward turning my experiences into a purposeful future for myself and my family.

Tell us about your journey to and through SNHU. What inspired you to pursue your degree, and what are you most proud of so far?

SNHU has made it possible for me to continue moving forward academically while navigating the reality of chronic illness. Being an online student allows me to continue my education around medical care and the needs of my family, rather than having to choose one responsibility over another. Having that freedom has allowed me to go back to college and prove to my children and myself that anything is possible, even when faced with so many setbacks in life.

How has receiving scholarship support shaped your experience at SNHU or influenced your future plans?

I received the Online & Continuing Education Scholarship, which has relieved some of the financial burden that I face as a disabled mom with two wonderful and rambunctious boys.

Has a person, class, or experience at SNHU had a meaningful impact on you? Please share.

My third semester with SNHU I took BUS 210 with Professor Haylee Szczepkowski, which gave me back a lot of confidence in my management and leadership skills that I felt I had lost after my car accident a few years ago. That course really reinforced to me that I was on the right path with SNHU and to keep pursuing my dreams.
