What I like most about SNHU is the flexibility and support built into the online program. As a working, full-time student, I needed a university that could fit into my already full life without compromising the quality of my education. SNHU has exceeded my expectations. My professors are responsive, the course materials is engaging, and I feel part of a learning community even though I’m not on campus. I also appreciate how SNHU incorporates inclusivity and real-world application into their curriculum. It's helped me grow both professionally and personally.
Scholarships have had a profound impact on my ability to attend SNHU. Without this support, I'd have to take fewer classes each term or increase my work hours. Both would delay my path to becoming a licensed mental health counselor. The financial relief from scholarships has allowed me to focus more on my course work, participate fully in my practicum and internship experiences, and still be present for my children. It’s helped reduce the stress of managing tuition costs and made higher education feel not just possible, but truly accessible.
To those who donate: thank you, sincerely. Your generosity is not only a financial gift, it’s a message of encouragement that says you believe in students like me. Your support means that someone who might otherwise put off their education can stay in school and move forward with confidence. You’re helping create real opportunities and changing lives. I hope you know that your contribution goes far beyond a dollar amount. It brings hope, motivation, and a sense of being seen and supported.
I chose SNHU because it offered a reputable and flexible online Clinical Mental Health Counseling program that could fit into my busy life as a working parent. I needed a school that understood adult learners and supported students who might be juggling family, work, and school. SNHU stood out for its student-centered approach, affordability, and strong support system. It felt like a place where I could truly succeed.
My hope in pursuing a college education was to gain the skills and credentials necessary to make a meaningful impact as a mental health counselor. I also hoped to set an example for my children that it’s never too late to chase your dreams. My experience at SNHU has exceeded my expectations. I expected to feel isolated as an online student, but I’ve felt deeply connected to my peers and professors. The support and encouragement I’ve received along the way have made this journey far more personal and empowering than I imagined.
I was inspired to study Clinical Mental Health Counseling because I’ve always been passionate about helping others, especially children and families navigating difficult emotions and circumstances. Working in the behavioral health field confirmed that this is where I’m meant to be. My dream job is to become a licensed therapist who specializes in supporting children with emotional regulation challenges and trauma histories. I want to create a safe, affirming space for healing and growth.
One of the biggest influences on my SNHU journey has been my academic advisor. Their consistent encouragement and guidance helped me stay on track during moments when life felt overwhelming. They reminded me to pace myself, to celebrate small victories, and to ask for help when I needed it. That support reminded me that I’m not doing this alone, and that asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness.
As an online student, my involvement has looked different from traditional campus life. I’ve engaged in discussion boards, peer collaborations, and learning communities within my courses. I also work part-time in the mental health field, applying what I learn in real time. This balance between academic learning and hands-on experience has helped deepen my connection to the SNHU community.
The biggest challenge for me is time management—balancing school, work, and parenting can feel like a constant juggling act. I manage this by staying organized, using a detailed planner, and giving myself grace when things don’t go perfectly. I also lean on my support system and remind myself why I started this journey whenever it feels hard.
I’m most proud of staying committed to my education despite the challenges. There have been moments when life threw unexpected curve-balls. However I continued to show up, submit assignments, and stay present in my courses. I’m proud that I’ve modeled perseverance for my kids and proven to myself that I can accomplish difficult things.
As a graduate, I hope to stay connected through alumni events, mentorship opportunities, and possibly returning to SNHU as a guest speaker or contributor to student panels. I’d love to give back to the same community that supported me and be a resource for future students navigating their own academic journeys.
