My favorite part about SNHU is the community. When I first got to the University I was shy and nervous to be a college student, but the SNHU community welcomed me with open arms. I found my passion playing volleyball, working in sports, and being a leader.
Scholarships and financial aid make it much more possible for me to attend SNHU. As one of two daughters of a single mother, money is hard. I've worked since I was 16, whether that is in a restaurant, grocery store, or a summer internship. My mom works more than 40 hours a week, just to be able to provide for my sister and me. Although she has not made it obvious, money can be a struggle. My sister is in law school, living in an apartment, while I study on campus at SNHU. Supporting both of us financially is difficult, but SNHU makes it easier. Financial aid and scholarships lift the burden off of my family and allow us to enjoy our education without worry.
To those who donate to support student scholarships, thank you. You are kind and selfless, and the money will go to great use. Because of you, I can continue my education, become successful, and enjoy my time at SNHU to the fullest.
I chose Southern New Hampshire University for many reasons, one being volleyball. I also loved the community it fostered and the openness it gave me to explore what major I wanted to study.
In receiving a college education, I hope to find the exact career path for me. The experience has been so much better than I thought. I've made friends, found my passion, played my favorite sport, and found new things out about myself.
My dream job would be working in sports social media or communications.
My supervisor, Steve Boucher. Steve taught me to never give up and push myself. Without him, I would've never found my passion for videography.
I'm on the SNHU volleyball team. I work for SNHU On Campus and SNHU Athletics doing social media and videography. I also work for Campus Recreation as an Intramural Sports Supervisor.
The most challenging thing as a student is time management. It is hard to balance social life, sports, academics, and everything else happening in college. To manage, I rely on resources from SNHU, like my academic and career advisors, my friends, professors, and my teammates to keep me motivated.
SNHU gave me the chance to find myself and my passions. I am proudest of the person I've become, thanks to SNHU.
After I graduate, I plan to return for my master's degree.
