I like that SNHU has so many organizations and opportunities to chose from.
The scholarships and financial aid I've been fortunate to receive have been instrumental in my journey at Southern New Hampshire University. These forms of support have alleviated the financial strain of higher education, enabling me to fully engage in my studies, athletics and personal growth. Scholarships, in particular, have had a transformative impact on my experience.
Firstly, they've granted me access to SNHU, a renowned institution that offers a rich academic environment. The scholarships I received facilitated this access, allowing me to benefit from experienced educators, advanced resources, and diverse opportunities that contribute to a holistic education.
Secondly, scholarships have empowered me to excel academically and engage actively in campus life. By reducing financial worries, I've been able to focus my energy on achieving higher grades, improving on the volleyball court and taking on leadership roles in various campus organizations — such as Resident Assistant, SNHU Volleyball team captain, Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) President and others.
Lastly, scholarships have opened doors to internships aligned with my career goals, expanding my skill-set and providing practical experience. Additionally, they've lessened the need for extensive loans, paving the way for a more stable post-graduation journey.
I extend my heartfelt gratitude for your generosity and belief in my potential. Your support of student scholarships has not only lightened my financial burden, but has also reinforced my determination to achieve academic excellence and personal growth. I'm excited to continue this journey with your encouragement behind me.
I chose SNHU because of the flexibility, extensive academic catalog, athletics level and on campus organizations/opportunities.
When I set out to pursue a college education, my primary hope was to gain a comprehensive understanding of my chosen field of study, acquire practical skills and position myself for a successful career. I also hoped that college would provide me with a platform to explore new ideas, expand my horizons and develop lifelong friendships/connections. Overall, my goal was to transform myself into a well-rounded and knowledgeable individual who could contribute meaningfully to society.
However, my college experience has been different in a few ways from what I initially imagined. Firstly, the sheer diversity of opportunities available on campus surpassed my expectations. From academic programs to extracurricular activities, internships and research opportunities, the range of options has allowed me to explore my interests and talents more deeply than I thought possible.
I've had many professors and coaches who've been role models and truly inspired me during my time here at SNHU. Just to name a few: Dr. Greg Randolph, Dr. Daniel Regan, Dr. Chris Blais, Dr. Kostas Karadakis, Dr. Harry Umen, Coach Dega da Gama and Coach Daniela Stake.
I find time management most challenging. I deal with this by using a planner, setting realistic goals (which can be very hard), prioritizing tasks and learning to say 'no' (which is the hardest for me).
I'm proudest of my resilience and the connections I've made.
I hope to stay involved by participating in alumni events, networking, career fairs, mentorships, continued learning, advocacy, etc.
