I chose Southern New Hampshire University because it offers a top‑tier online education that fits the demands of my life, my service background, and my long‑term goals. SNHU was the perfect fit from the start — the flexibility, structure, and support allow me to continue my work with veterans and my nonprofit while progressing academically. What I value most is how SNHU empowers students like me to grow, lead, and innovate, no matter our circumstances. My experience here has strengthened my ability to take Grappling Therapy™ and the War Memorial Foundation to a national level, and I am grateful for how SNHU has become a true partner in my mission.
The scholarships and financial aid I receive make it possible for me to attend SNHU because I would not otherwise have the financial resources to cover the cost of my education. My Post‑9/11 GI Bill has expired, and I no longer qualify for any VA education programs, which means I have no military funding or financial resources to rely on. Without scholarships, I would not be able to stay enrolled or continue working toward my degree. This support allows me to keep moving forward, remain on track for graduation, and continue building a future rooted in service, leadership, and the national work I am doing through Grappling Therapy™ and the War Memorial Foundation. Your help is truly life‑changing.
Thank you for your generosity and for making this scholarship possible. As a decorated U.S. Army Infantry veteran whose Post‑9/11 GI Bill has expired, I no longer qualify for any VA education programs, and I currently don't have financial resources for school. Your support allows me to continue my education at SNHU and pursue work that is deeply rooted in service, healing, and national impact.
My story is part of documented U.S. history. My brother and I became the only siblings to deploy to war from the U.S. Olympic Training Center, sacrificing our 2004 Olympic years to serve in Iraq. That sacrifice shaped my life, my leadership, and my commitment to helping others overcome trauma and adversity. Today, I am the founder of Grappling Therapy™, a therapeutic discipline I created to support veterans and individuals through movement, connection, and combat‑sport principles.
With the help of my education at SNHU, this work has now reached national visibility including a FOX News feature and recognition during Special Operations Forces (SOF) Week. Your generosity is helping me continue my degree, advance into the MBA program, and take Grappling Therapy™ and the War Memorial Foundation to a national level.
My journey to SNHU began with a commitment to service that has shaped every part of my life. As a decorated U.S. Army Infantry veteran, my brother and I made U.S. history as the only siblings to deploy to war from the U.S. Olympic Training Center, sacrificing our 2004 Olympic years to serve in Iraq. Those experiences inspired me to dedicate my life to helping veterans heal, rebuild identity, and find purpose. That mission ultimately led me to coin and develop Grappling Therapy™, a behavioral‑health innovation designed to support combat PTSD and whole‑health recovery through movement, connection, and combat‑sport principles.
As this work grew, so did its national impact. Grappling Therapy™ and the War Memorial Foundation Corp, the nonprofit I founded, have received national media recognition — including features on FOX, Yahoo News, and coverage during Special Operations Forces (SOF) Week, one of the nation’s premier gatherings of military leaders and innovators. These milestones strengthened my belief that formal education would help me take this mission even further.
I chose SNHU because its top‑tier online education allows me to continue serving veterans while advancing academically. SNHU has given me the structure, flexibility, and support I need to complete my Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts with a concentration in Business Administration, and I am proud to be accepted into the SNHU MBA program, which I will begin immediately after graduating in November 2026. What I am most proud of so far is how my education at SNHU has directly strengthened my ability to expand Grappling Therapy™ and build the War Memorial Foundation into a national nonprofit that can reach veterans across the country.
My goal is simple but deeply important: to take Grappling Therapy™ national so every veteran has access to this modality and the healing it provides. I am grateful for how my education is helping turn a vision of service into a national movement.
Receiving scholarship support has completely shaped my ability to continue my education at SNHU. With my Post‑9/11 GI Bill expired, I do not qualify for any VA education programs, so scholarships are the only reason I can stay enrolled and continue progressing toward my degree and future MBA. This support allows me to move forward with my long‑term goals, including developing the War Memorial Foundation Corp into a national nonprofit and taking Grappling Therapy™ to veterans across the country.
My education at SNHU is directly strengthening my ability to expand this work, which has already received national recognition. Looking ahead, I'd like to potentially partner with SNHU to pilot a Grappling Therapy™ program on campus, and one day, help the university explore the possibility of building NCAA men’s and women’s wrestling programs. Scholarship support has not only made my education possible it is helping me build a mission that can change lives on and off the battlefield.
SNHU has had a meaningful impact on my life and on the national work I am doing through Grappling Therapy™ and the War Memorial Foundation. The structure, support, and flexibility of SNHU’s online programs have allowed me to continue developing my behavioral‑health innovation while earning my degree. My education has strengthened my ability to articulate, organize, and scale Grappling Therapy™.
SNHU has played a direct role in helping me take this innovation to a national level. The academic foundation I’ve gained here has helped me refine my nonprofit leadership, improve my communication, and build the strategic skills needed to expand the War Memorial Foundation into a national organization that can support veterans on and off the battlefield. I am proud that my journey at SNHU has contributed to the success of a therapeutic modality I coined, which is now being recognized across the country as a new path for combat PTSD and whole‑health recovery.
