Get to Know Our November 2024 Honoree!

Meet Brian – a recent SNHU graduate and one of our amazing members on the Alumni Board of Directors. He is just beginning his volunteer journey with SNHU and is already deeply committed to making a difference. He even made the trek all the way from Baltimore, Maryland to lend a helping hand at Homecoming this year! What inspires you to volunteer with SNHU?

I am deeply inspired by SNHU's commitment to providing accessible and quality education. As someone who has benefited tremendously from the support and guidance of SNHU's faculty and staff, I feel strongly about giving back to the institution that has contributed so much to my personal and professional development. The university's mission resonates with my values of service and making education accessible to all.

What do you enjoy most about volunteering with SNHU?

I particularly enjoy connecting with the SNHU community in person. Traveling from Baltimore, MD to attend Homecoming and meet the other Alumni Board members face-to-face was incredibly rewarding. I value these opportunities to engage directly with fellow alumni and university stakeholders, sharing experiences and building meaningful relationships that can benefit current and future students.

What results have you seen from your efforts?

As a recent graduate who is just beginning my volunteer journey with SNHU, I've already seen positive results from my commitment to engagement. Making the trip from Baltimore to participate in Homecoming allowed me to establish valuable connections with board members and demonstrate my dedication to the SNHU community. I'm eager to leverage my background in training and development to contribute even more meaningfully to the university's initiatives.

Did anything unexpected happen as a result of your volunteer activities?

Yes! I met a few staff members and fellow alumni who I really connected with and ended up inviting them to travel to Baltimore to visit me and my family.

Will you continue to volunteer with SNHU? Why?

Absolutely! I'm committed to continuing and expanding my volunteer involvement through joining the Alumni Association Board of Directors. My current role as Chief Learning Officer at Bedford, Louis & Ellicott, LLC (BLE Training Group) provides me the flexibility to attend meetings and actively participate in board activities. I'm excited to contribute my time and expertise to support SNHU's mission.

Will you encourage others to get involved? How?

Definitely! I plan to use my experience in leadership and relationship building to inspire others to get involved. Through my professional network spanning nine locations nationwide, I can reach out to potential volunteers and share the value of engaging with SNHU. I'll also use my social media presence to promote alumni initiatives and leverage my public speaking and team-building background to inspire others to participate.

Additional Comments:

As an entrepreneur and education advocate, I'm excited to bring my unique perspective to the SNHU community. Making the journey from Baltimore for in-person events is one way I demonstrate my commitment to active participation. I believe my experience in training, development, and building successful businesses positions me to make meaningful contributions to SNHU's alum community. I look forward to continuing this rewarding journey of service.
