Alumni, Family and Friends
My name is Becca Harris and I am a proud alumna of SNHU, Class of 2013. As an Executive Director of a nonprofit, I use the skills I learned in my events management and business classes every day. However, the lessons that run deep in my core, and shaped the person I am today, came from my work-study job at The Chandler Center and service-learning classes.Over the last 10 years, I’ve raised my hand to be a project leader and attend service experiences during SNHU Global Days of Service (GDS). Pre-pandemic, I helped coordinate clean-ups in the Boston area, and for the last four years, I led the GDS book drive project supporting the Prison Book Program. I love being able to give back and GDS gives me the perfect opportunity to work with some of the best SNHU community members out there! This year I started my new position as Executive Director of 2nd Act, which is currently a very small organization, so I instantly knew I wanted to help grow our partnerships. One of the first things I thought of was service-learning and SNHU. I am so grateful that I was able to connect with The Chandler Center and have been working with two marketing classes and an MBA capstone class. This opportunity gives students real-life experience while helping 2nd Act with data analysis and marketing strategies. My hope is that the students working on the projects recognize how much their work means to our organization and that they can use this experience as they enter the workforce. Making an impact by participating in service and using my skills to help others truly is the biggest lesson I learned at SNHU.
Thank you!Becca Harris '13Executive Director at 2nd ActSNHU Volunteer
