Shelters are on the frontline of the COVID-19 crisis. Need for assistance in many communities continues to rise, while many organizations continue to deal with limited funding and lack of volunteers. We asked Penmen to help by contacting their local shelter and asking them what they need. Some even invited friends and family to join them to make an even bigger impact. There are many different organizations and shelter types working to address shelter needs, including emergency shelters, women’s shelters, veteran shelters, supports for children in foster care, and emergency relief for refugees. If animals are a passion for you, consider a local animal shelter.
