2020 marked our 5th anniversary of Global Days of Service. As we collectively navigated the coronavirus pandemic, we expanded our typical month of service. SNHU community members could volunteer for a DIY project at anytime from April through October. Some of the DIY projects included donating blood, sewing face masks, letter writing to elders while in-person visits were halted, and getting our furry friends supplies they needed.
We were blown away by the excitement of the alumni, students, faculty, and staff who stepped up. By February 2020, we had 59 site leaders, 69 official projects (and counting!), and 663 volunteers registered early! We were ready to break records for our 5th anniversary year.
In true SNHU form, we rallied to figure out what was possible because we knew our communities were still very much in need of our help. 11 site leaders led 39 projects that were completed by more than 300 volunteers in a year unlike any other. Check out the names of our superstars below. We are so grateful for your efforts during this unprecedented time!
