What Happened: The Concord Coalition to End Homelessness has a 40-bed emergency winter shelter that helps people through some of the coldest nights throughout the winter. The goal of the project was to close down the shelter for the summer months while it is not being used. On April 6, volunteers cleaned the restrooms; washed the beds and bed frames; organized linens, toiletries, washed windows and doors; and vacuumed and swept the shelter floors. The Coalition does a lot of other related work for the Concord Community and volunteers were happy to help in this way to take this off of the to-do list for the Coalition.
