Alumni, Family and Friends
What Happened: On April 23, SNHU volunteers spent the day leveling, flattening, and straightening the walking paths throughout the garden to make it easier to plant and pick produce all summer long. The Production Garden grows a wide assortment of fresh fruits and vegetables for the NH Food Bank, including tomatoes, corn, garlic, summer squash, zucchini, green beans, cucumbers, butternut squash, buttercup, and eggplant to name a few! The garden is well prepared for a fruitful growing season.
The NH Food Bank serves as the only food bank in the state, working to provide nutritious food and resources to the hundreds of thousands of New Hampshire residents that are food insecure. The fruits and vegetables grown in the Production Garden contributes to the millions of pounds of food supplied annually to more than 425 partner agencies, including food pantries, homeless shelters, soup kitchens, children’s programs, senior centers and more.
