OutFITters Thrift Store - Manchester, NH
What Went Down: On April 17, 2017, SNHU community members visited OutFITters Thrift Store to sort and organize clothing, housewares, and other donated items and prepare them to be sold on the sales floor. Other special projects included stocking racks, creating displays, dressing mannequins, or even general cleaning. Volunteer support ensures that the stores run smoothly and stay profitable. 100% of the proceeds from OutFITters goes directly towards funding Families in Transition's housing services. Staff volunteer Daryl Arsenault said in addition to helping inside the store, some volunteers were cleaning the grounds outside. He said, "for me personally, the best part was when two small girls asked if they could help us clean up outside picking up trash. They were so excited that we said yes. We decided to give them gloves to wear just like we had so they wouldn't feel left out. They wanted to know if they could do it again with us and when we would be coming back. The girls were living in the transitional housing and I felt so blessed to have them help."
