The diversity of the students as well as the support from the school to everyone.
My parents have worked hard to enable me to go to college. Scholarships help me to keep going on my studies without financial worries.
I'm very grateful to think that someone is willing to help those who are passionate about their studies. I deeply appreciate the generosity of scholarship donors.
I chose SNHU because it had the option of degree-in-three program. The fact that I was able to save a whole year's worth of tuition was a very big reason why I chose this school.
My hope was to gain in-depth knowledge of my major, hospitality business. In reality, I am learning more things in addition to my major from my business core and general education courses. I really enjoy the extra knowledge since it can be used in my major unexpectedly.
My dream job is to work at a hotel. Seeing smiles on people around me has always been a satisfying moment for me. I thought that learning about the industry would allow me to be more caring for people around me as well as the workers in the industry.
Dr. Kimberly Monk has been a great influence on my SNHU experience. She teaches many of my hospitality courses and I enjoy her teaching style. She takes advice from the students and makes sure that every class is engaging. One of the most memorable courses with her was Special Events Management. The class itself was very satisfying but Dr. Monk's support and energy led me to be interested in the events field as well. She had also mentioned how fit I am for the industry, which I was very happy to hear from someone who has experience in that field.
I am currently the publicity chair of Hospitality Student Association. I have helped advertising the club as well as the events and meetings we do.
I find time management the most challenging especially because I have many classes as well as my club duties and a part-time job at SODEXO. I have many assignments on different due dates. I deal with this by writing down my schedule. It is easier for me to remember things I write so this trick has helped me keep up on my studies.
I am proud of my grades. Despite English being my second language, I am able to keep up with my peers. This makes me feel that me effort is baring fruit.
I want to support international students who feel alone in a new environment. I want to be a place where people can feel free to reach out whenever they need help.
