It is something that I look forward to every year

I joined the Alumni Board of Directors because of my recent visits back to campus. While there I was invigorated by the energy, excitement, and enthusiasm I witnessed from the students, faculty, and staff. I have considered SNHU my home since my very first visit as a high school senior looking at colleges, and I still feel that way now. As I reflect on my experiences, it was SNHU that helped build my skills and capabilities as a leader and helped shape the person I am today. I hope to continue the SNHU tradition of giving back as a member of the Alumni Board of Directors.

I owe so much to Southern New Hampshire University by providing me the education to make significant life and professional changes for me while also providing resources and opportunities for me to still be a part of the University years after my graduation. I am in my field because of SNHU and I am extremely grateful to the transformation in my life that my SNHU experiences have given me. As someone who has worn many hats at SNHU and experienced the good, bad, and ugly through these, I am interested in assisting on the board to help develop the school where success stories like my own become the norm and to volunteer my time and experience to work towards novel solutions as we continue to grow as a University and into our communities. I am dedicated to the importance of providing not only top quality instruction, but an environment with opportunities to succeed for all students is something I am passionate to keep as a backbone of my decisions for the University.

What's your favorite SNHU experience as an alumnus/alumna?
My favorite memory as an alumnus of SNHU was hosting a dinner and social gathering for the Alternative Break Trip while they volunteered in New Bern, North Carolina in 2018. Providing an opportunity for this group of students to be seen, valued an appreciated as current SNHU students, from an alumni was heartwarming and influential for me. It was at this moment that I realized that my time with SNHU was not over.

I have chosen to join the Alumni Board of Directors because I want to dedicate my time and energy to institutions that have positively impacted my life. It's similar to Warren Buffett's advice about investing in companies whose products you understand and use. SNHU has played a significant role in my personal and professional development, providing valuable education and learning opportunities. Much like Buffett's philosophy suggests that having firsthand experience with a company's products gives investors unique insights, my experience on the board will allow me to give back and deepen my understanding of the university's values and potential. By serving on the Alumni Board, I am not just giving back but investing in an institution I believe in. This role enables me to leverage my unique perspective as a former student to help SNHU grow and better serve current and future students, much like an informed investor might help guide a company they believe in.
