Three accomplished MBA alumnae shared their journeys into leadership roles within the healthcare, information technology, and finance industries. They shared how they overcame challenges, advanced solutions, achieved their goals, and continue to pave the way for female leaders of the future.
Patsy Aprile '00MBASVP & COO, Southern Maine Health Care
Patsy Aprile is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and has been working in the healthcare field for over 30 years. She began as the Chief Operating Officer for Goodall Hospital in 2005 before becoming the President & CEO in 2011. Prior to moving to Maine, Patsy was the Executive Director of Clinical Services for Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, NH for three years and served as the Administrative Director of Laboratory Services for New Hampshire Medical Laboratories for three years prior to that. Patsy received her undergraduate degree in Medical Technology from Colby-Sawyer College, and her Certificate in Health Administration and Master in Business Administration from New Hampshire College.
Outside of work, Patsy currently serves on the Maine Health Care at Home and Maine Hospital Services boards. She served on the United Way of York County board for six years and was Chair of the board in 2015. Patsy also chaired the York County Go Red Campaign in 2012 and was awarded the American Heart Association’s Crystal Heart award in 2016. She is also a board member for the Northern New England Healthcare Executives and was the State of Maine Regent and a Personal Services Committee member for the American College of Healthcare Executives. Patsy has two grown children and resides with her husband, Bob, in York, Maine.
Katrina Jagroop-Gomes '15MBACIO, Massachusetts Gaming Commission
Katrina Jagroop-Gomes is the Chief Information Officer at the Massachusetts Gaming Commission. Katrina has over 20 years’ experience in both the public and private sectors with expertise in operations, finance, compliance and technology. She has held IT positions in organizations such as WGBH, Suffolk University and the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs. Katrina has worked with business heads to help create business strategies and how best to leverage technology. Throughout her career she has re-organized multi-department IT divisions, lead various energy efficient Data Center builds, relocations and consolidations, built and managed high performance IT organizations while driving operational efficiencies and standards.
Katrina earned an MBA in Information Technology from Southern New Hampshire University, a Bachelor of Science in Management from Suffolk University; she is a Certified Scrum Master and is one of the recipients of the 2017 Massachusetts Excellence in Technology, Leader in Digital Government Award. She is an active volunteer in her community with special focus on teenage girls and women at risk, and has served on the Haverhill Cultural Council and was inducted into the National Society of Leadership and Success.
Susan Martore-Baker '90MBAPresident of Cambridge Trust Company of NH
Susan Martore-Baker is the President of Cambridge Trust Company of New Hampshire, Inc. She directs business development and leads the wealth management effort in NH. She serves as Chair of the New Hampshire Women's Foundation board, and has served as an officer or board member of numerous non-profit and charitable organizations including Mayhew Program for At-Risk Boys, Symphony NH, the American Lung Association’s NH Leadership Board, the New Hampshire and Connecticut Valley Estate Planning Councils, and NH Charitable Foundation in Manchester.
Prior to joining Cambridge Trust, Susan was a Senior Vice President at Citizens Bank where she provided comprehensive wealth management solutions to high net worth individuals and families. She previously held administrative and business development positions at Shawmut Bank, First NH Investment Services, U.S. Trust (formerly State Street Global Advisors) and CFX Bank. Susan earned a BA in Business from Furman University in South Carolina and received an MBA from Southern New Hampshire University.
