What Went Down: On April 15, 2017, a group of SNHU community members visited the Mt. Carmel Nursing home as part of a monthly program called Happy Birthday Visitors. Each month, a group of on-campus students visit with Mt. Carmel residents who have a birthday that month, and for April birthdays, the students were joined by staff and alumni in honor of Global Days of Service. Each resident received a flower, a birthday card, and the group sang Happy Birthday; our volunteers spread some Penmen Pride and sunshine at the Mt. Carmel Rehabilitation & Nursing Center.
"During this event all the volunteers went around singing 'Happy Birthday' to residents who had a birthday in April! Not only did the volunteers sing happy birthday, but also socialized with many of the residents! It was a great event, with many smiles and laughs!" said site leader Meghan Kinmond after the project.
Share Your Story: Remember to use #ServeWithSNHU to join the movement and share your experience on social media throughout the event, and you can always give us more details on the Share My Story page. You can also get some super cool SNHU swag (order by May 7!) to make sure those photo opps are full of Penmen Pride! And, feel free to view and add your photos to the official SNHU Global Days of Service photo album on Google Photos!
