Alumni, Family and Friends
Event details: Thursday, March 6, 2025 | 10 am-2:30 pm | Families in Transition Food Pantry (176 Lake Ave, Manchester, NH 03103)
Learn more: The mission of Families in Transition (FIT) is to prevent and break the cycle of homelessness with evidence-based approaches addressing the root causes. Their services include housing programs, emergency shelters, food services, and substance use treatment. Volunteers are needed to organize in-kind donations for the shelter and their housing program. Tasks will include unpacking boxes, labeling, and organizing items. Some people may be asked to work in the food pantry as greeters or to hand out food.
Volunteers must be aged 13 or older. Carpooling is recommended; paid parking is available in nearby parking garages. Volunteers will get a 30 minute break for lunch; please bring a lunch and snacks as only water and coffee will be provided. Wear comfortable clothes that can get dirty and closed-toe shoes. Hair will need to be pulled back. Bathrooms and breakrooms are available on site for volunteers.
All volunteers will need to sign two liability/photo releases, one for SNHU and one for FIT. FIT’s releases are part of the registration process.
