Learn more: Amedisys Hospice Care is seeking volunteers to make comfort items for hospice patients in Morgantown, West Virginia. Ideas for items include prayer shawls, small plushies, lap blankets, caps and beanies, scarves, etc. Please ensure items are clean and from a smoke free environment, with minimal pet exposure; if your items are from a pet-friendly home, please wash and keep packed away from pets. Volunteers will need to supply their own yarn and tools, and pay their own mailing costs. Colors are up to you; mismatching makes the blanket feel more homemade and comforting.
Examples of comfort items: knit or crocheted lap blankets, scarves, hats, small plushies (amigurumi, teddy bears), crocheted hearts, etc. The Knit and Crochet for Emily's Place project has pulled together some helpful tutorials and resources if you're looking for inspiration.
