Learn more: Emily’s Place is a YWCA emergency shelter program in the Manchester, NH area where individuals and their children can experience supportive community living while rebuilding their lives after domestic and/or sexual violence. As a comfort to the individuals and children staying at Emily's Place, we're asking SNHU community members to crochet blanket squares or knit/crochet a comfort item, including hats, mittens, stuffies, sweaters, etc. If you're making a stuffed animal, you must use safety eyes and noses. If you do not have safety eyes or noses, leave your piece unfinished with an opening so that your project leader can add the safety items upon receipt. Check out these helpful video and written tutorials your project leader, Mary, has pulled together.
Volunteers will need to supply their own yarn and crochet hooks (5mm), and pay their own mailing costs. Colors are up to you; mismatching makes the blanket feel more homemade and comforting. Squares and comfort items must be received by Wednesday, May 29, 2024.
Mail your items to:Southern New Hampshire Universityc/o Nicole Cate33 South Commercial St Manchester NH USA 03101
