Learn more: Plogging is a global movement that anyone can join and it directly helps your community. Plogging comes from the Swedish term “plogga.” Stockholm, Sweden became the first city to host an organized “Plogga” in 2016. This event combined a jog, jogga in Swedish, with picking up litter, plocka up.
Bring some gloves and a bag for trash the next time you go on a walk, jog, or run on your favorite community trail or route around your neighborhood. Pick up any litter you see along your route and share your story to report the good work you’re doing to keep your community clean and beautiful. It’s that simple!
Approximately 150 million Americans get their exercise by walking, running, and jogging outdoors. Of this, some 60 million are traveling between 11 and 25 miles each week. Imagine the difference we could make if just 5% percent of this group organized to cleanup trails and paths that improve the quality of our communities and our access to wild places.
