Learn more: The Great Global Cleanup® is a worldwide campaign to remove billions of pieces of trash from neighborhoods, beaches, rivers, lakes, trails and parks — reducing waste and plastic pollution, improving habitats, and preventing harm to wildlife and humans. This program aims to continue cleanups every day of the year for a brighter, greener, and cleaner planet.
In 2022, the STEM department was inspired to lead this GDS project as a way to celebrate Earth Day with the SNHU community. For the third year, we're encouraging volunteers to get outdoors this spring to participate in their own local cleanup effort, take photos and collect data (for example: weight of trash removed). This could be done at a local park, beach, trail or bike path — whatever location is meaningful to you! As an example, a group of SNHU employees are coming together around Earth Day to clean up the NH shoreline and local parks.
Include friends, family, community members and others connected to SNHU in your cleanup efforts. Consider participating on or around April 22 to commemorate and celebrate Earth Day!
