Event details: Saturday, March 19, 2022 | 9 am-12 pm | New Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church (2580 Snapfinger Road, Decatur, Georgia 30034)
What went down: SNHU community members Gayla and LaNette had a great time volunteering for Trees Atlanta. Gayla said "we planted three trees all by ourselves and assisted with planting a fourth tree! We dug the holes with shovels and used pickaxes to move through rock and red Georgia clay to create a hole that was deep enough to plant the tree. We then had to prepare the tree, remove the potting soil to expose the root, then plant, mulch, and water the tree before moving on to dig the next hole. We were both so tired after the first three trees but LaNette exhibited that true SNHU grit that kept me going and we were able to keep moving forward. We helped plant 33 trees in an urban area that needs trees in their community. We were proud of our work and confirmed our belief that we can do hard things, especially when we are representing SNHU!"
