Learn more: Way to Battle is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that provides a "battle pup" to those nominated by friends or loved ones. This could be anyone struggling with a long-term illness, loss of a loved one, or anyone being a warrior in their own life-changing event. Way to Battle started when a family was faced with a childhood leukemia diagnosis. Their goal is to provide anyone, children or adults, with a reminder that they are not battling alone. Their goal started with wanting to give 200 battle pups and they're now on track to give 7,500 in 2023!
Volunteers gathered to collar the battle pups (which are stuffed animals), write notes, and prepare packages to be sent to the families. Between SNHU volunteers and Way to Battle, the group sorted seven pallets of more than 5,000 battle pups. They loaded 270 sorted boxes on a trailer and even had enough time to prepare 500 bags that will be sent with the pups. Check out this great wrap up video Way to Battle put together.
