What Happened: On Friday, April 5, SNHU community members helped the Animal Rescue League of NH with outdoor projects as part of their "spring clean up."
The SNHU crew tackled outdoor projects of cleaning up the trails behind the Rescue League that are used to walk the dogs. They were messy from the winter and needed to be widened and defined again to hopefully keep dogs on trail a little better during the walks. We also cleaned up some chairs and seating as well as an area that was taken over by brush that they are hoping to build a little amphitheater on. Inside, some of our volunteers cleaned up a waiting and showing area that had been used for construction supplies since they have been making additions and updates to the site.
Afterwards, we were able to visit with some of the bunnies which everyone really enjoyed.
Many of the volunteers already had ties with ARLNH, one of which adopted a special needs cat just 6 months ago and was happy to report how well he was doing! The staff was so happy to hear this update. The group learned about future event and volunteer opportunities to benefit the organization.
Site leader and SNHU staff member Emma DeLanoy said, "the project was fantastic! Weather was nice and we had a hardworking crew. Overall we had a mix of SNHU staff and alumni of different departments and graduating classes, so it was great to meet others who work at SNHU and learn more about them too!"
