Alumni, Family and Friends
Event details: Thursday, April 27, 2023 | 3-7 pm | The Friendly Kitchen (2 South Commerical St., Concord, NH 03301)
What went down: Since 1980, The Friendly Kitchen has provided over 600,000 meals for the hungry in a non-discriminating environment with the help from community volunteers. The SNHU group prepared a meal for 57 dinner guests. Upon arrival, they divided out the tasks to make BBQ chicken, mac and cheese, peas, roasted carrots, and cookies.
Using a commercial kitchen, alongside donations from local stores, farmers and individuals, the Friendly Kitchen provides a great environment for working collaboratively to cook on a mass scale. After cooking the components of the meal, the team served the guests. It was great to interact with everyone at the cooking line. The group cleaned up the kitchen and felt excited to have made an immediate impact on the community!
