Event Details: April 2020 | Anytime | Anywhere
Learn More: April is Global Citizen Science Month and marks the 50th anniversary of Earth Day! Citizen science (also known as science for all) is an invitation for everyone to participate in real science, on topics they care about, typically by following protocols for data collection, analysis, and reporting. Citizen science can be fun, but it is also serious science.
Global Citizen Science Month invites you to get involved and make a difference by participating in a citizen science project or activity of choice anytime throughout the month. Citizen Science Month is an annual event to celebrate and promote all things citizen science: amazing discoveries, incredible volunteers, hardworking practitioners, inspiring projects, and anything else citizen science-related! This global celebration includes events hosted by libraries, institutions, community groups, museums, and individuals all around the world. Visit citizensciencemonth.org to turn your curiosity into impact.
Some projects and events are designed to address science and sustainability-related Global Goals (also known as the UN's Sustainable Development Goals). By engaging in citizen science and taking action, you'll help global efforts in the attainment of 2030 Sustainable Development Goal targets. Find and search for virtual or in-person projects near you at scistarter.org/finder. Don't forget to let us know how many hours you served!
