What Happened: The Los Angeles LGBT Center was created in 1969 to champion the mission statement for the LGBT community. It stood for equality. Now with more than 6,000 employees, the center has expanded its reach from the Los Angeles area and has multiple chapters in several states. The Los Angeles LGBT Center offers services, such as, social and health services and assistance with housing.
For this project, volunteers sent messages of encouragement and hope to homeless youth and individuals whose housing situation has changed due to their sexuality.
