Alumni, Family and Friends
What Happened: On April 8th, 188 walkers came to SNHU in order to support the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. The event honored friends and family of the SNHU community who have been lost to suicide and raised awareness about the prevalance of suicide. Alumni Nick Carey's mother spoke about the loss of her son, a kind and caring man and Miss New Hampshire also spoke about the different ways mental illness and suicide can affect everyone. In total $11,835 was raised through raffles, personal fundraising and donations from local businesses. The day was filled with hope and healing and this walk will continue to be held at SNHU in future years. For photos from this event, check out the 2018 Global Days of Service Google album.
