What Happened: On Thursday, April 25, volunteers helped with some spring cleaning at the SNHU Center for New Americans. The Center for New Americans partners with the YWCA NH to help refugees and immigrant populations in New Hampshire to gain access to support and services that they need centered around education.

In six short hours, volunteers divided into teams to:

• deep clean and reorganize the Community Room and Children’s Nook. This team also assisted the children of the Center with preparation for their theatre camp performance.
• deep clean, spot paint, and reorganize the Gymnasium and Sports Closet. This team ensured the closet was safe and kid-friendly!
• deep clean and reorganize the Kitchen and Food Pantry spaces. This dream team made the kitchen safe, welcoming, and more easily accessible to our Center community members.
• transform the Center's exterior! Volunteers weeded, raked, and spread bark mulch in the gardens; restored and painted a picnic table and wrought iron window boxes; and even rediscovered an old stone path that they brought back to life. 

Site leader and Program Manager Courtney Perron said the group was able to complete so many meaningful projects.
