Alex Satrustegui made a huge impact up front in his first year with the men’s soccer program. The Spanish forward registered 34 points on 15 goals and four assists, as he started all 17 matches for the 11-3-3 Penmen. Satrustegui, who garnered both Northeast-10 All-Conference and Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) East All-Region First Team accolades, as well as United Soccer Coaches East All-Region Second Team honors, ranked second in the league in both goals and points, as well as fourth in game-winning tallies. Satrustegui found the back of the net in 13 different matches, including a season-high five straight from Oct. 7-Oct. 21.
Ashley Elder has emerged as one of the leaders of the women’s track & field team, as it enters its fourth year as a Division II program in the fall. The senior thrower has captured 21 total events between the indoor and outdoor seasons, combined, including 16 last year. Elder, a back-to-back United States Track and Field Cross Country Coaches' Association (USTFCCCA) East All-Region choice, was the top discus performer in the east region last season, turning in the No. 1 discus throw in the NCAA Division II East Region with a mark of 44.23 meters (145 feet, one inch) at the prestigious Penn Relays. Elder, who was also tabbed as a USTFCCCA All-Academic honoree last season, captured the 2018 Northeast-10 title in the discus during the outdoor season (42.28 meters - 138 feet, eight inches) to help the Penmen earn their highest finish ever.
Matt Paradis has enjoyed a stellar career with the men’s golf team, averaging a 73.3 per round over 58 rounds of golf. Paradis, who will be a second-semester junior this fall, has finished in the top 10 in 13 of the 24 events he has played as a Penmen, including six victories. His biggest win came last fall when he became the first SNHU golfer since 2014 to capture the Northeast-10 Championship. The two-time NE10 All-Conference First Team and Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) PING East All-Region Team selection, has placed in the top six in all three NCAA Regionals during his career, including in 2016 when he guided the Penmen to their first NCAA National Championship.
