What do you like most about SNHU?

I love that SNHU fits into my busy schedule! I like that I can do my work from anywhere with an internet connection.

How do the scholarships and financial aid you receive make it possible for you to attend SNHU? Specifically, how have scholarships made a difference?

This scholarship has made affording my new laptop computer possible! Without a laptop computer I wouldn't be able to succeed in my online course work. I've faced some loss in the short time I've been a student at SNHU. This scholarship allowed me to purchase a portable computer, so that I could be with my family during tough times and still keep current on my schoolwork. This scholarship has relieved some serious financial burdens from me and my family.

Why did you choose Southern New Hampshire University?

I chose SNHU because of the success stories I've read online.

What was your hope in receiving a college education? How has your experience been different than what you’d imagined?

I hoped to better my employability by earning a degree. This experience has opened my eyes to a broader potential within myself than I ever thought possible.

What inspired you to choose your area of study? What is your dream job?

I'm currently working in my family business. I chose business as my area of study so that I may bring the knowledge into our business and help it thrive. I really enjoy business ownership, so this is my dream job!

Who at SNHU (professor, coach, advisor, etc.) has been the biggest influence on your college experience? What lessons did that person teach you?

All of my professors have taught me so much — even if it was just that I need to pat myself on the back! My academic advisor is really great too! He calls me just to check in and make sure I have all I need to continue to be successful in my program. Everyone is very attentive and helpful.

What do you find most challenging? How do you deal with this?

The most challenging thing for me as a student is time management. Life is busy and doesn't slow down just because I have course work to complete. I deal with this by adherence to a strict schedule. I turn off my phone and the television. I avoid distractions and I buckle down until my weekly assignments are complete.

What are you proudest of?

I'm the proudest of my 4.0 GPA. I work very hard to submit my absolute best work and seeing that reflected in my grades really makes me proud of the effort I put it.

In what ways do you want/hope to stay involved as an SNHU graduate?

I hope to be offered the opportunity to tell my story to someone else who is on the fence about their education. I didn't come from much and have been through a lot. And yet I can still hold my head up knowing that I'm worth the time and effort it takes to change my life. I hope to make someone else see they too are worth it.
