What made you choose Southern New Hampshire University, and what do you value most about your experience here?

I choose SNHU because of its flexibility and supportive learning environment. The thing I value the most is the faculty's commitment to helping students like me reach my academic goals. As someone who has to overcome significant challenges, those things are important to me.

How do the scholarships and financial aid you receive make it possible for you to attend SNHU? How have they made a difference for you?

In short, scholarships and financial aid have made it possible for me to attend SNHU in the midst of a life-altering roadblock. I almost gave up, but the support made a significant difference in my life. The scholarships and financial aid have eased some of the financial pressure I've had to endure, while focusing on school in hopes of building a better future for myself and others.

What message would you like to share with the alumni and friends whose generosity made your scholarship possible?

I would tell them: "THANK YOU!" Your support has helped make my academic goals attainable by easing one of my biggest roadblocks. I am truly grateful for your kindness. Your generosity is empowering to me and strengthens my desire to give back one day.

Tell us about your journey to and through SNHU. What inspired you to pursue your degree, and what are you most proud of so far?

It's a long story because of the roadblocks. I'm working up the courage to share it because my story may be something someone needs to keep going.

How has receiving scholarship support shaped your experience at SNHU or influenced your future plans?

I have always been the one providing support to others, but I have not always had a lot of support myself. Receiving support from SNHU has reignited something within me and encouraged me to reach for greater heights. From my amazing advisors and teachers to the community being built around me, SNHU has allowed me to dream again. I have a restored sense of self and feel encouraged to continue overcoming obstacles as I work to achieve my goals.

Has a person, class, or experience at SNHU had a meaningful impact on you? Please share.

A few of my professors have had a meaningful impact on me, especially Dr. A and Dr. Qu. Their wealth of knowledge has challenged me to keep moving forward while I sharpen my skills and craft. My advisor, Michelle Ashley, has also had a significant impact on me. She is well-versed in the field and has helped me turn my goals into actionable steps. I truly appreciate every conversation I have with her.
