What do you like most about SNHU?

The support given to me by school staff.

How do the scholarships and financial aid you receive make it possible for you to attend SNHU? Specifically, how have scholarships made a difference?

Financially, I'm extremely lower-class. Without the support of scholarships and student loans, college is not something I would be able to consider, let alone attend.

What would you say to those who donate to support student scholarships?

Your contribution to my education is beyond words. I'm eternally grateful that you're helping to provide me with my dream and betterment of my future.

Why did you choose Southern New Hampshire University?

Affordability.

What was your hope in receiving a college education? How has your experience been different than what you imagined?

I expected college to be more financially draining than it has turned out to be. I can focus more on the positives and worry less about the price I'm paying for it.

What inspired you to choose your area of study? What is your dream job?

I want to write fiction books for teenagers and young adults. I was on my own from a young age, and I learned a lot from reading. I'm hoping to write stories that will help the youth that are in a similar situation to stay on the right path, as well as teach lessons that people generally learn from parents or grandparents.

Who at SNHU (professor, coach, advisor, etc.) has been the biggest influence on your SNHU experience? What lessons did that person teach you?

My academic advisor, Sean, is always there for me. I know if I have a question or any issues, I can reach out to him. He's there for me every step of the way.

In what ways have you been involved at SNHU (campus organizations, job, sports, etc.)?

Through SNHU I was nominated and inducted into the National Society of Leadership and Success.

What do you find most challenging? How do you deal with this?

I find that I'm my own worst enemy in regard to college. I push myself very hard to maintain my 4.0 GPA, and I can get anxiety about it. When I feel as though I'm not doing good enough or perhaps I'm unsure about something, in the past I've reached out to my professors to ask questions about parts of assignments that I'm unsure about. They always get back to me and set my mind at ease about my inquiries.

What are you proudest of?

My GPA. I'm very proud of my 4.0! It's a lot of work, but worth it.

In what ways do you want/hope to stay involved as an alumnus/a?

I'm hoping to eventually make enough money to contribute to scholarship funds. I want to improve the lives of those like myself. Hopefully I'll make enough income to make a fund for Creative Writing students with similar life goals.
