"My sincere thanks for your generous gifts ... (scholarship support) eases the financial burden of paying for the education and reinforces the idea that I am on the right track to success."

What made you choose Southern New Hampshire University, and what do you value most about your experience here?

I have two previous master's degrees from SNHU—an MBA and an MS in Information Technology.  I love the online experiences, and the personal investment of the instructors towards student success.

How do the scholarships and financial aid you receive make it possible for you to attend SNHU? How have they made a difference for you?

The Veterans Scholarship eases the burden of paying for my master's degree and encourages me to continue learning.

What message would you like to share with the alumni and friends whose generosity made your scholarship possible?

My sincere thanks for your generous gifts. I aim to write something that pleases and entertains many based on the knowledge gained in my writing program. Your gifts make this possible.

Tell us about your journey to and through SNHU. What inspired you to pursue your degree, and what are you most proud of so far?

My first degree, an MBA in financial management, was in 1985 when the SNHU was called New Hampshire College. I later completed an MS in Information Technology in 2018. I love writing, especially science fiction, and decided to pursue my third SNHU degree through the MA in English and Creative Writing program with a concentration in Screenwriting. I'm most proud of my in-progress YA science fiction novel, "Stowaway," for which I've currently written about 28,000 words out of 60,000.

What I am most proud of so far is my ability to balance graduate-level coursework, NCAA athletics, and multiple leadership roles while continuing to grow personally and professionally. Through these experiences, I have developed stronger time management, discipline, and confidence in my future career path. I am especially proud of how I have been able to take what I’ve learned in the classroom and apply it directly to my internships and leadership positions.

How has receiving scholarship support shaped your experience at SNHU or influenced your future plans?

It does two things: eases the financial burden of paying for the education and reinforces the idea that I am on the right track to success.

Has a person, class, or experience at SNHU had a meaningful impact on you? Please share.

I find that all of the instructors are deeply knowledgeable and invested in student success. This personal touch makes the learning enjoyable.
